Back from Anime Iowa!

Well, we managed to survive another Anime Iowa! Welcome to anyone who found this site from the convention! Renegades of Geek wasn’t able to have a dealer room presence this year, hopefully that will change next year. We’re still in the early phases, but there’s a chance that we’ll make it to Anime NebrasKon.
In case you don’t know, Anime Iowa is an annual convention celebrating Japanese animation, and other things that appeal to anime fans. It’s what I’d call a medium sized Anime Con. While I haven’t seen the final numbers yet, based on the passes sold at the door, I’d estimate around 2,500-2,600 people attended.
We’ll update soon with a more detailed report soon, so keep your Geek on until then!

Get your swag here!

The STORE is up and running! I’m always adding new designs, but there are quite a few up and ready for purchase now.

Please follow a link from this website (or type http://www.zazzle.com/renegadesofgeek* , INCLUDING the ‘*’) when visiting the store. Remember, the designs can be put on whatever color and style of shirt you want, as well as a huge variety of other products. So, if you see something you like, you can customize it however you want.

The sales part is being hosted by Zazzle. If you haven’t heard of them, they’re pretty useful for independent designers like myself, but also handle some pretty big lines, like Star Wars.  They front all of the cost, and then cut me a check if anything sells. Putting the ‘*’ in the address lets them know that I sent you. Otherwise, even though the prices stay the same, they’d pay me less.

I hope you enjoy it, and please LET ME KNOW if you like what you see, or even if there’s something you want but isn’t for sale yet!

All that’s left is to think of a name

Today is Groundhog’s Day (at least it at the time of writing, though I don’t know when it will actually be posted). [editors note - Feb. 13] Yet I find myself unable to focus on and truly enjoy my favorite rodentia themed holiday. This is because just as Thanksgiving is overshadowed by Christmas, The shadow that the groundhog really sees is the ominous harbinger of Valentine’s Day. Read more »

I assure you we’re open

So begins the Geek Revolution! Although I’ve always found it curious that people refer to a drastic social change as a “Revolution.” From a strictly scientific viewpoint, a revolution would be one complete rotation around an axis, which would actually bring you right back where you started.
